Nintendo DS Outselling the Competition

Although Nintendo isn't breaking any records on the console front, they are tearing apart the competition from the handheld world. Not only that, but the DS is outselling every other gaming console on the market, that includes Playstation 2's and Xbox 360's. The reason? well could be the DS lite, could be the summer drought which is bringing the gaming goons outside in the sun, and they need a toy to play with while tanning.

Just to give you an idea of how well Nintendo DS did in June, I am gonna quote the sales figure. :P

The introduction of the new DS Lite version, featuring a smaller profile and more brilliant display, boosted total sales to nearly 600,000 units, almost double that for any other game device, and alone represented more than a third of total industry system purchases for the month.
