News Archive
Hey guys this is the news archive that was ported from wordpress over to the new site, I realize that its unformatted and sort of a mess, but its better than losing all of that content now isn't it ;)
If there is anything you want from google that shows up on these pages its still there, however all of the comments have been removed I apologize for that as well but it wasn't worth it to port them.

As an early Christmas present, my brother bought me UT3. The long awaited game for the PS3 has finally arrived. As an exclusive till July of 08, UT3 will only be available for the PC and the PS3. I definitely was surprised by some of the things that was in the UT3 game. The graphics, sounds, gameplay all wrapped up to be a very fun game.
Graphics: No surprise here how good the graphics are. Coming from the makers of last years top Xbox game Gears of War, the graphics are by far the best I have scene in a long time. Makes Halo 3 look like an old xbox game. Epic has definitely gone all out on the graphics. The only question is where is the 1080P?
10/10Game Play/Controls : So there two ways to play single and multi. In single there is some what of a story line. It explains how deathmatches works and how people keep respawing. The single player does get a little boring playing with bots. Heres the real reason people buy UT3, the multiplayer. UT3 makes Halo3, Resistance:Fall of Man, and Gears of War look slow. Like granny driving a car slow.UT3 is super fast paced. You better have some itchy trigger fingers if you want to play this game. Like in past UT games, there is no health regeneration. Its all about finding armor and health packs. You also start off with only a pistol and a compressor hammer(it shoots compressed air). The vehicles are also outstanding. I only got to play with 2 vehicles so far, the Hover Board and the Scorpion. The Scorpion drives like a Warthog from Halo and the Hover Board just brings back memories from Back to the Future 2, where Micheal J Fox's character Marty tries a hover board for the first time. Multi Player definitely does the game justice even on a ps3 controller. I will later try to play more death matches and with a keyboard and mouse. The biggest problem I have with the game is the price. Its a great multiplayer game but there isn't enough content to justify paying a full 60$ for
1 0/10 for Game Play
9/10 for Ps3 ControlsSound: Sound has been the same for the past 7 years. It sounds like the same guy who yells double kill and multi kill when you kill a crew of people. The soundtrack is pretty lame as usual. It seems recycled from the previous Unreal games. Boo on the sound. I hope there is an update later where we can use our own music playlist.
5/10Replay Value : The online multilayer will definitely hold its own. Unfortunately after playing the campaign for about an hour I got tired of it. I have played the multiplayer for a straight 3 hours. Its hard to put down the controller.
8/10Total 42/50
Definitely a must buy for a PS3 title, but without any user content to be downloaded at release, and a lack luster campaign, it could definitely shoo buyers away from this title that is 60$ on just a multiplayer game.

To revive this site a bit, put a little more ZING in to it, ive decided to put up a poll to see what everyone thinks Game of the Year for 07 was. The poll will end on Friday Jan 11.
On a side note, if most of you have noticed, Green hasnt been posting due to the lack of internet.
I will be posting as much as I can while he is away having fun in Canada -
Happy hangover from turkey.
I hope everyone had their fun filled days after Thanksgiving.
There were so many video game releases that should of satisfied everybody's video game hunger. Leading up to Turkey Day, long awaited games such as Assassins Creed, Rock Band, Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Mass Effect all popped up at our local retailers. If that wasn't enough, you could of picked up tons of older games at significantly lower prices on Black Friday. As an avid gamer, I went broke over Thanksgiving break. Buying a TV and TV stand. Also I went out and bought an Xbox Elite right before the month of November started and picked up Halo 3. It has been a very hectic month of money spending for me. Now that my household contains 2 xbox 360s, a Wii and a PS3, only more reviews and more exciting rants about each system will follow. So with today being the start of the week after Thanksgiving, lets all reflect on the past week and tell us what you have played to help you pass time. -
Happy eat a ton of turkey and sit with people in your family you don't much like day. More importantly tomorrow is black friday, so anyone looking to get some games or pick up some hd tvs for your hd-consoles I think most of you should look around for some black friday ads and get out early tomorrow :). I know that some stores have some sick sales, like walmart is giving away 10 blu-ray dvds with the purchase of a ps3... that might be the best one I have seen if you really want a ps3 right now. Anyway enjoy the holiday and the days off school I got to go eat some food.

This game is getting a lot of gripe, and to be honest from playing it for a good 2-3 hours now I can safely say that people are overly reacting, and it's what they get for hyping a game so much. If you ask me this will turn out just like Fable. While the game is good it's not going to live up to the enormous amount of hype and after seeing some poor review scores I am glad I got my hopes down before I sat down with the game. I find it for the most part fun, while yes it's repetitive but hell aren't all games? I don't remember the last time I played a game where everything I did wasn't the same shit over and over? FPS: you shoot shit, RPG: you get into random battles, Action-Adventure: you look for stuff and then fight for that stuff?
All of these things are common and known, so for people to expect the whole damn world to change dramatically just because you enter another city seems a bit over the top, you can't expect gameplay to change because the scenery has, you have fundamentals, how would everyone like it if their was a different controller scheme for every area? or if certain actions could only be done while in a certain town? If you ask me everyone needs to get their foot out of their ass and just sit down with an HD tv and enjoy the game for what it is, because if anything it is a decent game even if it isn't the epic adventure you all hoped for, it's still fun and enjoyable...
That's my two cents, if I hate the game in a couple of hours so be it, this is only a first impression.

I have to admit that not having the Orange Box for the pc does have it's disadvantages, the funniest disadvantage has to be the lack of the ability to make levels and use the characters in the mod Gary's Mod. For those of you unfamiliar with this legendary software it essentially allows you to take any map from any of the Half-Life and source related games and place characters and objects to your liking in them. This means the amount of hilarity that ensues is simply unheard of.
For those of you fans in any way of Half-Life or it's sister games I highly recommend you check out the NEOGaf forums because over the last few days some of the more talented Gary's Modders have been going to town with scenes using some of our beloved Team Fortress Characters.

I admit that of all the news posts that I have ignored this isn't exactly gold, but I don't give a crap because I like music and this gives me a reason to post about Assassin's Creed :P.
Two free tracks have dropped and you can coop them over at Gamer Tag Radio, and no you don't need to register just scroll down to the tracks and "Save As." The music is actually fairly tight, and if anything it makes you imagine your playing the game while you wait for it over the next day. Be sure to pick up your copy tomorrow, and for those of you using gamefly I hope you sent something back so you don't have to wait for all the people that had it in there "game q" to return their copies of it ;).

I have to admit, all the games that are coming out are not helping me care about this site, but I want everyone to know that I am trying to find time for it, and I am designing a new layout and I know that Richard is attempting to help me get something going for the new site. Basically what has happened in the last few days is we have lost a PR and for those that don't know don't worry about it. But to me it's a huge blow and it seriously pisses me off, so I want to gain back the popularity and pride of this site.
I will also more than likely be killing the forums off in a month or so and let them go for a while because god knows there dead and maybe if I create a demand for them people might actually go to them?
So yeah sorry for the lack of news and shit, but to be honest I don't see much going on in the gaming world other than the release of mad titles, Assassins Creed and Mass Effect are right on the horizon and should most likely prevent me from touching this site hahaha.
