News Archive
Hey guys this is the news archive that was ported from wordpress over to the new site, I realize that its unformatted and sort of a mess, but its better than losing all of that content now isn't it ;)
If there is anything you want from google that shows up on these pages its still there, however all of the comments have been removed I apologize for that as well but it wasn't worth it to port them.

While this game may be taking a while and it may suck like the first one... it looks damn fine and I think thats all that really matters right now :P. Hopefully the gameplay improved from the first one, but just based on the detail on the visuals one would hope that the developers actually put in work.
I apologize that gametrailers.com is gay and I can't embed the video for some reason so for now a link to it and I will download and convert it to flash and put it on the site *later today* but its like 5 am and I am le tired.

First off... if you don't have Bioshock go get it now. The reason I am slacking on UG is because I can't stop playing that shit :P.
Anyway, GameSpy got to play a demo of DMC4 on the 360 recently and while they claim the graphics felt slightly better, that may just be because it was a newer version of a similiar PS3 version they played a few months earlier. The game looks incredible either way you look at it and that's not the reason I made this post to begin with. The problem that seems to be evident is that since all the DMC games have been on the PS2 the transfer of the controls to the 360 controller just doesn't feel as good as it does on the Playstation controller. I personally had not even considered that as being a troublesome aspect of the game, but considering how hard a Devil May Cry game can be this is a bit worrying since I will and I am sure many others will be getting the game for the 360.
Argue however much you will; after five and a half years of hacking, slashing, and shooting demons, we and millions of gamers are very accustomed to the feel of the PlayStation controller, be it Dual Shock 2 or Sixaxis, for the DMC experience. Our gripe with the Xbox 360 demo is that the controls feel too directly ported over to Microsoft's controller, and it's not a good ergonomic fit. While the DMC games on PlayStation have used R1 to modify Dante's attacks, the Right Bumper doesn't feel natural to the gameplay experience, and certainly feels weird when you're targeting enemies to slay. Maybe it's just for the demo, and Capcom will allow for controller configurations that are better tuned to the Xbox 360's controller, but it felt really awkward to play during our demo. Aside from that, the face buttons feel perfectly fine, and the rest of the build, aside from the annoyance of the Right Bumper, is still very fun. We just wish Capcom hadn't slapped a ten-minute time limit on the "Exterminator" section, but then again, we've braved the Games Convention crowd on public days; those kids would never get off the machines.
I can't really complain, but when you consider the typical learning curve of a Devil May Cry game to be about an hour it might be a little longer with the 360 version especially with gamers used to the Playstation layout for the series.

wow, congrats to these amazing manufacturers. Just two years ago, Sony held the gaming markets in a choke hold, Nintendo was in the pooper and Microsoft was kicking the OG Xbox to the curb to never make a 1st party game for it ever again. In just two years, Microsoft and Sony is losing a ton of money for different reasons, while Nintendo played their trump card. As of yesterday August 22 2007, Nintendo has surpassed Microsoft in console sales. The 360 has been out for nearly 2 years and the Wii has been out for almost 10 months now. Ps3 seems to be taking the pace of the 360.
I just have to say, good job Microsoft and Sony. Because you two money bags have been at each others throats, you forgot about poor little Nintendo. Now look what happened. Nintendo Wii is now in 1st place and the 360 is in 2nd place, while Sony is in dead last in the Next Gen wars. Good job losers. Have fun trying to keep up with Nintendo. You might be lucky to catch the sales of the DS. In your dreams.

Don't like first person shooters you ask? Well then die anyway. This game is a must have for anyone who has ever been behind a third or first person shooter/adventure/horror game. This game delivers on levels I thought had long since vanished after Half-Life 2 revealed the Gravity Gun, but sure enough someone thought up plasmids and reinvented the whole shooter once again.
I would say that if you don't have a 360 this could be the game that forces you to buy it because this game is that fucking awesome, it received so many 10/10 scores from so many damn people that its almost retarded for you not to buy it just because its supposed to be that good... and don't get me wrong it is that good.
That's all I really have to say :). Oh and you don't even have to buy it, rent it or whatever the hell you have to do, or black mail your sister into giving you money to buy it you just fucking need this game.

Being a gamer and a skateboarder doesn't allow for me to criticize to many games without getting a little backlash because hell, I don't know shit about sports games and I really don't care. However I do know skateboarding, I eat and breathe this shit. So any chance I get to make fun of or point out all the problems with a skateboarding game I take it.
With that said, skate. is an amazing game that is finally taking the scene in the right direction. For years I have watched the Tony Hawk series destroy what it had started with the 2nd and 3rd Tony Hawk games (I saw those two because they were the best). Tony Hawk put to much focus on over the top fantasy skateboarding and forgot about the core group of individuals who allowed for the series to really take off; the real skateboarders.
EA on the other hand has it right in more ways than I can even describe, giving all the power to your thumbs is simply brilliant and I wouldn't have it any other way. For those of you that have not had the chance to play the demo yet I highly suggest you do because it truly is an enjoyable experience as both a veteran Tony Hawk gamer and skateboarder.
This game is set to truly represent skateboarding in the most accurate way I have seen to date. With that said, this game is not easy by any means, while I have only played the demo a few times I would have to say the ease of picking up the controller and getting into the game was more difficult that I anticipated and thats well actually not a problem to me. Skateboarding is hard, really hard, and it takes a long time to get good at it, so why should the games be so damn easy? X, Square, Left and you got yourself a kickflip or heelflip; thats not skateboarding, thats more like streetfighter combo skateboarding.
The Introduction of the flickit technology is really incredible and just makes the game feel so good and so real. If you miss the pop in the game you miss the pop you don't get that late weird feeling like Tony Hawk games, if you approach a rail from a 90 degree angle your not going to magically start griding it in the right direction your going to fall flat on your face. Not only that but the game even makes you push, that means theres not magically force throwing you up hills and down stairs, it's actually you moving your character in every possible way. Lastly the game utilizes the triggers as the skaters hands for grabbing the board, you can then use the board stick (the right thumbstick), to tweak the board and your grab.
While I admit the 30ish minute session the game allows you is just a scratch off the surface I see this game as being one of the best skateboarding games to date and will finally correct all the errors that the Tony Hawk series has committed. If your a skateboarder your going to want this game, if your a gamer with the desire to challenege yourself and maybe finally feel what a skateboarder feels even on such a small level then I highly recommend it.
One last think, flipping into a manual in this game is just as rewarding as manually like... all the time just to give you guys and idea of how good I felt landing a manual in the game hahaha.

(Omg look at those shoes and grip tape)So for those of you that dont already know,By the way, im not sure if its been released on the PS3, If you own a PS3 and can see if its been released, that would be wonderful, BUT ANYWAY
EA Sports finally released the damn skate. demo, and if you ask me, This game is the shit, meaning, the shit as in, this game rules!! I've played it 3 times already over and over, i love the fact that unlike all those Tony Hawk skateboarding games where you button mash every time you go off a ramp, or skate in a bowl, to do tricks. But in skate you use the right stick to preform all your moves.
For instance when you Ollie in real life, You crouch down, pop the back of the board up and slide your foot on up to the nose then even it out for a landing. So when you preform an Ollie in skate. you push the right stick down and flick it up.
Quite the amazing trick feature.I dont know about you guys, but i gotta get my hands on this game.
Overall (based on the demo)Controls: 10/10 (Excellent, just takes some getting used to if ur a fan of OTHER skateboard games)
Gameplay: 8/10 (I like the controls, but i mean you dont get much of the story in a demo, you just do a few quests and then skate.)
Graphics: 10/10 (Amazing! With the incredble screen angle *Like GoW* It makes everything more realistic, not to mention the clothes look not as blocky as other games)
Music: ?/? (haha i was listening to my ipod while i was playing the demo, so idk, haha. Ill edit this later)
Well not sure what else there is to say, But like Madden 08, if your a fan of football, you'll love Madden, But i got to say, if your a fan of Skateboarding, You have GOT to get this game
By the way, im not sure if its been released on the PS3, If you own a PS3 and can see if its been released, that would be wonderful, BUT ANYWAY

According to GamePolitics.com, Miami attorney and long time Gamer's enemy Jack Thompson has set his eyes on Bioshock. Even after his win with Manhunt 2 not being allowed to appear in England, he is still hungry for more. On the Gaming site listen above, he said this in a statement about Bioshock:“Please note that big trouble is on the way for Take-Two re BioShocks [sic]†stated Thompson, finishing with his trademark, “Hooah!â€
Now really, what does he have to go after with a game that is as unrealistic as Animal Crossing? The enemies in this game aren't cops or federal agents, they're undead mutants in an underwater city. And we all know that this isn't "going to train our youth to kill kill kill". It's labeled correctly on the ESRB. I tried contacting a representative from 2K Games, but they didn't have anything to say.

That's right, you're favorite gaming site is getting updated shortly. Expect it no later than never. We can't discuss the details, but we thought you might want to hear it. Maybe if you post some ideas in the comments, we might listen to you.

For those of you haters that thing I am not a "Sony" fanboy and a quote Microsoft one... you'd be sadly mistaken. This bundle which comes with Crisis Core, a new slimline PSP that just so happens to have some steezy artwork on it, and finally a buster sword wrist strap will only run you $409 dollars. Yes, you are reading that correctly, why the extra $9 dollars you ask? Because they flippin can thats why.
Not only that but they are only making 77,777 of them, last I checked thats a lot of PSPs and since they don't exactly sell like hotcakes if you really want one, I am sure you can get one. Google around and you can more than likely find some pre-books, that or move to Japan and get in line. Considering this is a Square-Enix project I assume that the line for this device is already forming, and I don't even know when it comes out haha.
Oh and one last thing for those of you that don't know, the PSP is $170 dollars... so that means with Crisis Core thats about what? $230ish after tax, so your paying almost 200 dollars for a Buster sword strap and some art that you could probably add as a sticker to your normal PSP. :/
